PARTICIPANT’S PLEDGE:
I pledge to put forth my best effort in the KCSMW Science & Engineering competition and to uphold the principles of honest competition. I will compete with integrity, respect, and sportsmanship toward my fellow competitors. I will respect and obey the decisions of judges, event supervisors, and volunteers.

NOTWITHSTANDING ANYTHING TO THE CONTRARY, KCSMW WILL NOT BE LIABLE TO THE APPLICANT OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR OVERHEAD (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) OR OTHERWISE, WHETHER OR NOT KCSMW HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF ANY SUCH DAMAGES.
KCSMW hereby expressly disclaims all liability for product defect or failure, claims, that are due to accidents, product misuse, abuse of product modification, improper product selection, non-compliance with any codes, or misappropriation.
KCSMW reserves the right to determine eligibility for the reasons stated herein or on any other reasonable basis.
KCSMW reserves the right to make modifications to the rules when necessary and participants should agree to abide by the latest rules. Participants are advised to refer to the guidelines available on the KCSMW STEM website periodically before the competition.
Participants cannot hold KCSMW, or its volunteers liable for injuries sustained or illnesses contracted, or any other damage while doing any experiments. KCSMW will not be responsible for personal injuries or property loss or damages to either contestants or spectators or any other liabilities.
Although Fairfax County Public Schools returned to a normal schedule starting in 2022, we are required to adhere to the guidelines, policies, and procedures set forth by the State of Virginia and CDC. Also, if either the State of Virginia or the CDC make changes due to COVID or any other related issues, KCSMW will be required to follow their guidelines.
